A few examples would be "you won't be sorry," meaning "you'll be glad" or "that's not bad at all," meaning "that's good." More precisely, it's an affirmative that is expressed by the negative of its contrary.
One of our favorites is, "This is a disaster!" This comes in handy for any kind of mess such as a few dirty dishes, clothes that need to be picked up, or toys laying out.
About 'Word of the Day'
This is just meant to be something fun for students and their families to enjoy. The definitions are not necessarily exact, but are meant to serve as a way to explain or start a conversation with a preschool age child. We try to come up with a word that has at least three syllables. Something related to the curriculum is a bonus!
