If you came to see the disaster that is my house, you could understand why the agenda is so long for today.
Hibernation is an important adaptation that animals in cold climates have developed. Another seasonal adaptation is the leaves falling from the trees. This helps the trees with their own version of hibernation for the winter.
"In the winter, where's the bear? Sleeping in his log or lair. Hibernation, time to go to sleep!"
Whining exacerbates my grumpiness.
It can also be seen on the outside of a glass of ice water in summer, or on the bathroom mirror after a shower.
I was asked this morning why the windows looked like they had a blanket on them. This led to a nice discussion of the water cycle including the steam we see when we boil water to cook noodles, the formation of clouds, and the precipitation of rain and snow.
About 'Word of the Day'
This is just meant to be something fun for students and their families to enjoy. The definitions are not necessarily exact, but are meant to serve as a way to explain or start a conversation with a preschool age child. We try to come up with a word that has at least three syllables. Something related to the curriculum is a bonus!
