The Field Station Scholarship
We believe strongly that everyone should have access to high-quality preschool education, regardless of financial means, so we offer a scholarship program to adjust tuition based on family income. It is our goal to award scholarships to reduce tuition so that a family receiving scholarship aid for preschool will spend no more than 5% of its household income on their child’s tuition. Sharing the financial responsibility will give you peace of mind, as well as a sense of ownership and pride in Field Station.

Liz Scott Memorial Scholarship
The Liz Scott Memorial Scholarship was developed as a way to honor and remember Liz Scott. Liz was a beloved two-day teacher at the Field Station who tragically lost her life while jogging six years ago. The accident occurred right after our open house and in the middle of the school year. It was completely devastating to all that knew and loved her. Liz left behind her husband and twin boys, Paul and Phil, who were just 10 years old at the time of her death.
Liz loved children and absolutely loved the Field Station. She also was an avid runner and helped us each year with our Kids' FunRun and TotTrot at our annual Field Station Frenzy. She was the "Rabbit" and the kids were always so excited to run with her. So now, each year, a portion of the money raised during this 5K Frenzy fundraiser is set aside for the scholarship. Donations can also be made directly to the scholarship fund. This is the perfect way to honor Liz and keep her memory alive.
The Field Station awards a minimum $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior that attended the Field Station.
Applicants must be a current senior accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college, vocational or technical school.
The winner is selected by the board of directors based on the applicant's essay. Applicants are asked to either recall a memory that they had from the Field Station when they were a student or write about how they think attending the Field Station influenced them.
The application for this year's scholarship will be available in February and the winner will be announced in May.
